Hip Pain
Hip pain can have a significant impact on your daily mobility, whether you're walking, sitting, or even sleeping. It’s a common issue that doesn’t just affect older adults-athletes, active individuals, and people with certain medical conditions can all experience discomfort in the hips. Because the hip joint supports so much of your body’s weight and movement, pain in this area often stems from wear and tear, inflammation, or underlying joint problems. Left untreated, it can lead to further imbalance in the body, including knee, leg, or foot pain.
At our clinic, we work closely with patients to uncover the root cause of their hip pain and develop a treatment plan that helps restore comfort and function. Whether your symptoms are recent or something you’ve been putting up with for a while, understanding the condition behind your pain is the first step toward relief. Here are some common causes of hip pain that we help patients manage:
-
Bursitis
Inflammation of the small fluid-filled sacs (bursae) that cushion the hip joint, often caused by repetitive movement or prolonged pressure
-
Iliotibial Band (ITB)
A condition where the thick band of tissue running along the outside of the thigh becomes tight or inflamed, causing pain on the outer part of the hip
-
Osteoarthritis
Pain, swelling, or stiffness at the back of the ankle due to overuse or strain of the Achilles tendon, often worse after activity
-
Rheumatoid Arthritis
An autoimmune disease that causes the body to attack its own joints, including the hips, resulting in swelling, pain, and long-term damage if untreated
